The communication of science and literature: a brief historical trip

Sharing knowledge depends on several kinds of narratives. Literature has been a well known path to share new concepts with a broad public, but science has a characteristic use of terminologies that do not promote social appropriation of scientific knowledge. Through time, some scientists have tried to share science with the general public using literary strategies, and many of these approaches resulted in interesting narratives; on the other hand, writers find inspiration in science, innovation and technology. In this article we suggest that such synergy between scientific knowledge and literature produce excellent paths to introduce new ideas to society.
