Since 2007, Adopt a Talent Program (PAUTA) answered the necessity of creating spaces so that children and youngster could live a different way of learning science. PAUTA seeks to develop scientific abilities that encourage critical thinking in children and youngsters who can question their reality proposing ways to improve it.
The following pages share the way PAUTA seeks to give an answer to students who show interest in science and are looking for spaces to develop their skills. The article presents the reasons why PAUTA was created, its methodology and the scientific community program in which one of the activities scientists can enroll is mentorship. This extracurricular strategy has a specific design and practice by PAUTA, and it follows up the research projects with social impact that students develop.
Mentorship has been implemented for two years in PAUTA. By the second year we were able to double the benefited students. They have been working directly with scientists in different educational institutions, research centers and enterprises.
