The interactions that occur between the angiosperms and other organisms are mediated by a wide variety of plant attributes. Among these attributes, the volatile organic compounds that participate in chemical communication stand out. These compounds act as chemical signals that convey plant-specific information and are detected by mutualistic or antagonistic organisms.
