To achieve this goal, it was proposed to make use of virtualization technology. The main objective is to provide a laboratory for the development of students’ academic skills through practice and configuration of network services in a controlled and secure environment. Additionally, we aimed to make use of current and most used technologies in business and work environment, to introduce students to a real work environment. A new hybrid methodology is applied to meet the proposal’s objective, which was named CASVIM in reference to the Cascade Software Engineering Methodology and the Virtual Infrastructure Methodology.
