Accessing a stable employment is one of the greatest challenges for the autistic community, regardless of their capabilities or credentials. It is got to do with a lack of sensitivity towards them and the general ignorance of their potential in the workplace. Beyond any challenges and difficulties linked to autism, the flipside of the coin is a series of positive abilities, more or less concealed, with which autistic persons (in particular, within Asperger’s syndrome) are more frequently and intensely endowed than neurotypical persons. In this paper, we briefly explore these abilities in the form of advantages, alongside the needs of autistic people for their optimal and healthy progress in employment.
