At the ENSANUT analysis, some indicators related to quality of life challenges ca be observed. One of these challenges is the lack of control in the hypertension treatment. For this reason, the purpose of this article is to prove the terapeutic efficiency of the auriculotherapy for the hypertension control. With this aim, an quasiexperimental study has been applied, in which the intervention was the application of thumbtacks in the auricle as a complementary therapy, during December of 2014 and while the patients continued with their prescribed treatments. According to this study, we can conclude that this complementary therapy should be promoted for the treatment of mainly chronic diseases, principally because of their economic cost as well as the importance of the patients’ quality of life.
