Rosewood: illegal logging and its trade
Keywords:
Dalbergia, granadillo, rosewood, illegal loggingAbstract
The Dalbergia genus of woody species inhabits a variety of tropical ecosystems worldwide. The rosewood or granadillo is a group of species at risk of extinction result of illegal logging, which continually feeds the tropical hardwood market. This leads to a decrease in their populations, the destruction of their habitat and the way of life of the people who depend on these forests for their subsistence.
