One of the farm animals most affected by global warming are pigs. This work explores why pigs are more susceptible to heat than other animals, how to identify a pig with heat stress, and how pigs can maintain their normal body temperature. The main strategies that scientists have used to help pigs cope with heat stress will also be discussed, primarily by modifying the ambient temperature in which they are housed. However, more studies are needed to reach a practical and accessible solution for all pig breeders, as implementing some of these methods can be costly. Therefore, the collaboration of more scientists and interested individuals is needed to help pigs suffering from heat around the world.
