Climate change and Mexican agriculture: food challenges

Climate change is upon us. Its impacts are diverse, but food production has been particularly altered. Mexico is vulnerable to extreme events, especially drought, which deeply impacts the relationship between food production and society. In this article we show you how climate change has impacted food production in Mexico; and the way this translates into changes in agrarian occupancy and migration to USA. Finally, we present some alternatives and solutions to face this phenomenon, so we can prevent the worst socioecological impacts. In the end, climate-production-society are a continuous, and altering one element has impacts in the others. Is up to us, as a society, to change the way we relate to our food production systems.
